Matt Obradovich

Financial Advisor

Serving clients since 2008.

A financial advisor by trade, Matt is an educator at heart. He believes that the more clients know, the better off they are. He wants them to understand the reality of their financial situation and choices so that when they face a challenge or opportunity, they feel confident making a strategic move. He’s also a diligent researcher, and he makes a point to stay up to date on the latest products and technology to ensure his clients are equipped with the best solutions for their needs. His hope is that when clients leave his office, they’re in a better position than when they came in—whether that’s because their plan is more efficient or they’ve gained clarity and insight that gives them greater confidence about the future.

Approach

Matt treats each of his clients like his own family members, asking himself, “What would I do if this was my mom or sister?” He puts their interests first, telling them everything they need to know so they’re empowered to make informed, strategic decisions. He wants the best for them, and he reviews his clients’ plans regularly to help ensure they’re equipped for success even as the markets or their goals change. To him, there’s nothing more rewarding than crafting a retirement plan for a client, walking through life with that person, and getting to celebrate with them when they finally reach their goal.

Professional Experience

Matt’s introduction to the financial industry was at age 14, when he invested some of his Christmas money in the stock market. As he grew, he knew he wanted to be involved in finance, and after college, he joined Raymond James as a planning assistant, where he spent time behind the scenes learning more about the industry. In 2008, he became an independent advisor, building his practice from the ground up while navigating one of the most difficult markets in recent history. He later spent 12 years in investment banking and financial consulting, broadening his knowledge of the markets and planning strategies before joining the Longbridge team in 2022.

Personal life

Matt prefers to spend most of his spare time moving. Having grown up playing just about every sport imaginable (including football in college), he enjoys biking, running, lifting weights, and walking through the many nearby parks. He and his wife Chelsea often play golf at the country club, and they’re looking forward to trying pickleball and tennis soon. They live in a 1920s Tudor house (another one of Matt’s current hobbies—historical home maintenance) near Akron, Ohio, and enjoy spending time in Florida. Matt is also the proud dad to Kevin—a pre-med student with a 4.0 at Michigan State.
