Josh Jaffe

Partner

Serving clients since 2005.

As an advisor, Josh specializes in crafting custom financial strategies and helping people understand their cash flow and balance sheets. He focuses on practical education that empowers his clients, facilitating transparent conversations about their situation, what’s happening in the market, and what options and opportunities they have. To Josh, effective planning is about addressing clients’ most pressing concerns in a personal, practical way so they feel confident about their finances—a process which can sometimes take years. By building strong connections with each client, he’s able to identify what matters most to them and provide relevant guidance for each stage of life. His goal is to develop comprehensive plans that proactively address all their priorities, giving them a comfort level that they’re well-positioned to accomplish their goals and maintain their financial confidence.

Approach

Josh has built his practice around financial planning first and investment management second. This approach allows him to make recommendations for clients that are highly specific to their unique situations and also allows for continual real time changes to their portfolios as their lives evolve, not just when the market conditions change. The first step is creating a cash flow and balance sheet which serve as the core of their financial plan. This is used to help make recommendations around balance sheet optimization strategies, tax optimization strategies, estate planning strategies, insurance management strategies, and investment strategies. While Josh meets with his clients on a quarterly basis, the financial plan is reviewed semiannually.

professional Experience

The son of baby boomers, Josh watched his parents live through multiple stock market crashes, and though they were successful professionals, they seemed to always be struggling to find their financial footing during volatile times. This inspired Josh to pursue a career in financial planning, hoping to help hardworking people like his parents make strategic decisions with the goal of protecting their future. He earned his degree in economics, and in 2005, started his career at Citigroup. This early season of his career taught him the value of relationship-centric planning, and in 2020, after several years with Citigroup, and then J.P. Morgan, he became an independent advisor at Longbridge Wealth Advisors, now known as Longbridge Wealth at Steward Partners.

Credentials

Personal life

Josh and his wife Celia live in Worthington, Ohio, with three dogs (Barker Mayfield, a Lagotto Romagnolo, and Freya and Gus, who are Great Danes) and one cat (Fritzee). They love to travel internationally and listen to music, including attending live concerts whenever they can. Josh is continually looking for ways to learn and better himself, be it by reading non-fiction, meditating and/or attending silent meditation retreats, or listening to podcasts on his commute to and from the office. For fun, he likes to golf and play sand volleyball, walk his dogs, cook, and do projects around the house.
